This Fellowship will provide extensive training to recent orthopaedic graduates in the diagnosis and management of hip and knee arthroplasty, arthroscopy and the specialised osseointegration for above knee amputees.
The Fellowship is largely clinical with a heavy weighting towards knee surgery. Some flexibility exists to structure the Fellowship with additional exposure to hip and/or shoulder surgery.
Professor Walsh’s research is at the interface between implanted materials and the connective tissues of the body as it relates to orthopaedic, plastic and reconstructive and vascular surgery.
Mr Balakumar specialises in lower limb surgery including joint preservation surgeries of the hip, sports injury surgeries of the knee and scoliosis surgery in children.
