Dr Donnelly is a specialist hip and knee arthroplasty surgeon and an Adjunct Professor of Science and Engineering Faculty, Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering and Medical Physics QUT.

Dr Donnelly has undertaken extensive training both locally and overseas. His practice has a strong focus on arthroplasty, reconstructive surgery of the hip and knee and arthritis. He has a special interest in primary and revision arthroplasty and arthroscopy of the knee and hip with a focus on computer navigated surgery.

He runs knee clinics at the Brisbane Orthopaedic Specialist rooms alongside physiotherapists to ensure the best outcomes post surgery for patients with hip and knee conditions. Dr Donnelly is also involved in a number of ongoing studies on orthopaedic conditions of the hip and knee. He is currently a medical officer of the Prince Charles Hospital in hip, knee and trauma surgery.
