Dr Broe specialises in hip and knee surgery and orthopaedic trauma and focuses on joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee, arthroscopic and ligament reconstruction of the knee and arthroscopic/mini-open surgery for femoroacetabular impingement of the hip.
He graduated with First Class Honours from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). Dr Broe completed the basic surgical training programme in Dublin and received the MRCSI degree. He completed his orthopaedic training in Sydney in 2010 after attaining his Fellowship (FRACS) examination.
Dr Broe subsequently completed a Fellowship in hip and knee replacement surgery and travelled to Europe to undertake a Fellowship in arthroscopic/sports knee surgery. He has a genuine interest in research and has a number of publications as well as ongoing research projects.
He is a co-joint lecturer for medical students at The University of New South Wales and an examiner for surgical trainees of the Royal College of Surgeons. Dr Broe participates strongly in orthopaedic registrar teaching and travels to Tonga with Dr Michael Solomon to provide voluntary orthopaedic surgery.
