About

Dr Molnar specialises in pelvic and lower extremity trauma with interest in hip and knee reconstructive procedures and replacements using minimally invasive techniques and computer navigation.

He graduated from The University of New South Wales in 1994. Dr Molnar completed his Orthopaedic training in 2002 in Sydney and undertook further training in both joint replacement surgery and trauma.

Following a fellowship in lower extremity reconstructive surgery in hip and knee arthroplasty and arthroscopy, Dr Molnar worked as a trauma Fellow at Harborview Medical Centre in Seattle, USA. At the completion of the Fellowship, he became a consultant trauma surgeon for a further six months before returning to Australia to commence his own practice.

He has a strong research focus and continually audits his practice and monitors outcomes in order to improve the service he offers his patients. Dr Molnar employs a full-time research assistant to oversee the various studies he is actively involved in or running. He invites many of his patients to participate in research; however, they are under no obligation to do so.

Dr Molnar oversees his own research as well as being part of a number of multi-centre trials and a member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Research Consortium. He participates in a number of teaching activities and regularly lectures to orthopaedic surgeons, orthopaedic trainees, medical students, nursing staff and others. He is a faculty member of AO Australasia and has presented at both local and international conferences.
