Dr Journeaux's major orthopaedic elective interest is in lower limb joint replacement including hip and knee arthroplasty with a special interest in revision hip surgery. He practices in adult trauma and is on the International AO Trauma Faculty.
Dr Journeaux gained his Medical degree from the University of London (UK) in 1986. He undertook his orthopaedic training in Bristol and in Yorkshire in the United Kingdom, becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1995. He completed Fellowship training in complex hip and knee replacement as the Bone and Cartilage transplantation Fellow at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane in 1996. He subsequently practiced as an Orthopaedic Consultant in Liverpool (UK) for six years prior to immigrating to Australia in 2003. Subsequent to 2003, he became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and he currently holds CPD and Certified Independent Medical Examining accreditation.
Dr Journeaux is registered in Queensland and practices in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery. Between 2003 and 2014 he held the position of Director of Orthopaedics at Mater Health Services. He is currently a Visiting Medical Officer at the Mater Hospital both in private and public. Dr Journeaux also does a regular outreach clinic in Roma. He practices in adult trauma and is on the International AO Trauma Faculty.
