Dr Walter has had a strong interest in hip and knee replacement surgery since the 1970s, when first undertaken in Australia. He has since completed innumerable joint replacements and is among the most respected surgeons in Australia.
He is the founding partner and most senior orthopaedic surgeon at Sydney Hip & Knee Surgeons. Dr Walter is a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association, former Chairman of the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Mater Private Hospital and former Chairman of the Medical Executive at the Mater Private Hospital.
Dr Walter is a long standing Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS), a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association, a founding member and past president of the Arthroplasty Society of Australia and a member of the Board for the Australian Institute of Musculo-Skeletal Research.
He operates at the Mater Hospital in Crows Nest and has been involved in training many orthopaedic surgeons in Sydney. Dr Walter is highly regarded by his fellow orthopaedic surgeons.
